This sale is for a vintage brass sign that measures 9 1/2 inches in width, 4
inches in height and about 1/4 inch in thickness. This piece weighs 2 pounds 12
ounces. The sign is marked "FRANK MESSER & SONS GENERAL CONTRACTORS
CINCINNATI, OHIO". The back of this sign speaks to the age of the piece
because of its discoloration. Online sources show that this company started in
1932 and did work on a number of large projects in Cincinnati including Carew
Tower, the Terrace Hilton Hotel, the iconic Union Terminal Building, the Wright
Aeronautical Building, (which is now GE Aviation) and did work at Wright Field
in Dayton, OH as well as the old Quaker Distillery Warehouses in Lawrenceburg,
IN. This is a small list of the many projects that Messer has worked on
through the years. The company is now called Messer and is an employee-owned
establishment. This sale includes the easel that is pictured. Study the
pictures carefully as there are no returns. This seller does not ship
internationally.
